LSAD FASHION SHOW 2018

LSAD FASHION SHOW 2018 - BLASPHEMY

The LSAD fashion show is held annually in the church gallery. Blasphemy became an interesting concept, Showing a lack of reverence towards something considered sacred - in this case, the church. Contrasting the old and the new the juxtaposition of holding events which are by their nature bold, striking and daring, Has given the Fashion Show a special edge.

Built within an abandoned magdalene laundry in 1978, LSAD held it’s first fashion show during the birth years of the Punk era where we saw young adults taking something old and sacred, defacing it and creating a fresh, new concept for future generations. This is something these students do every day in the name of fashion. Tearing down old structures to create new creative foundations.
Embracing LSAD’s creative nature we wanted the cover to our catalogue to represent the universities unique personality. What we found when observing the students through their work, manifesto’s and general appearance was their pride of individuality. Your journey through college life is very personal and in a college full of creative artists we wanted them to be the ones who put the visuals to their catalogue embracing the talents they have learned in their time with the college. Inside the cover you can find many pages of various stickers including typography, church imagery and emoji’s. Students will then use these stickers to create their very own illustrated catalogue covers.
The outdoor poster campaign has been designed using vibrant and striking colours to grab the attention of the public. The posters were created to look appealing on anyone's wall even outside of the campaign and were intended to be taken home by students once the show had ended to decorate their homes. Posters will be stuck around pubs, bars, colleges and general hot spots around Limerick City in the lead up to the fashion show.
